Welcome to Against the Grain Books

Against the Grain Books  is a series of wooden sculptures fabricated into the shapes of books. Each book is printed with an original title and will be placed in various libraries throughout the Southern California region and beyond.  For a nominal fee of $10.00 plus tax, shipping and handling, you can sponsor a book. The $10.00 pays for the materials and time spent creating and delivering the book to its destination.  If you would like a book sculpture for your collection you can purchase a duplicate which we will ship directly to you.  Just add a second book to your cart and an additional fee of $10.00 will cover the printing and delivery.  If you would rather pay by check or money order then email us your choice or original title to tasmith10@againstthegrainbooks. We will give you more information on where to send the check.*

Visit Our Gallery

When you visit the Gallery page choose the title you would like to sponsor by selecting the "Add to Cart" button. This will link you to a PayPal site where you can pay for the book. We will email you a photograph of the finished book and where it has been installed.  After selecting and sponsoring a book please allow three weeks for final confirmation since printing and installation is completed by an army of one.

Create An Original Title

Want to create your own title? Be our guest. Scroll down to the bottom of the Gallery page and type in your title.  Select the "Add to Cart" button and you will be linked to the PayPal site where you can pay for the book.  If you do not want to use PayPal then email us your title and send us a check for $10.00 made out to at tasmith10@againstthegrainbook.com.  If you want a duplicate book sent to yourself make the check out for $20.00.**
